Starting at the West end of Jackson harbor Road, you will find the ART AND NATURE CENTER where local artists sell their works. The local naturalists have a display of wildlife for your viewing.
Heading East on Jackson Harbor Road, on the left hand side you will find SCHOOL HOUSE BEACH. This is the only flat stone beach in Wisconsin. It features picnic areas, great swimming, and is an excellent place to skip stones.
Once this adventure has been experienced, you can stop by FIDDLERS GREEN, known as an adventurer’s Oasis–a unique place to grab a bite and a cold drink. Kate will be there to serve you!
You can walk next door and tour the FARM MUSEUM where you can glimpse the Island Farming industry of years gone by.
Heading back down Jackson Harbor Road, you will come to Mountain Road. Take a right and climb the MOUNTAIN TOWER. Here you will have a view of Jackson Harbor and Rock Island State Park.
As you travel back down to Jackson Harbor Road, you will come upon SEIVERS SCHOOL OF FIBER ARTS. They feature a large variety of classes with professional teachers/fiber artists. The original fiber artwork is sold at the gift shop.
At the end of Jackson Harbor Road, you will find me and THE JACKSON HARBOR INN.
Directly to the right is JACKSON HARBOR RIDGES, a wildlife sanctuary with walking trails and a sand beach, great for making sand castles.
Going past the Inn, you will come upon the JACKSON HARBOR MARITIME MUSEUM, where you can learn about the Island fishing industry, past to present. See the original ice house, commercial fishing boats, and an old fisherman’s home.
